Household & profiles
Your household is the shared home for people, pets, calendars, and documents. Profiles decide who can sign in and whose color appears on the calendar.
In short
Create a profile for each person (and pet) you manage. Adults who use Atlas get their own login. Children and dependents can be managed without a login — you add their homework, appointments, and documents for them.
Profiles vs accounts
- A profile is someone (or a pet) in your household — with a display name, type, and calendar color.
- A login lets that person sign in with their own email. Managed profiles have no login; a manager (usually you) acts for them.
- Profile types include Adult, Child, Senior, Dependent, Pet, and Other. Pets cannot get a login.
Roles
- Owner — full control, including billing and removing members.
- Super Admin — nearly the same as Owner for day-to-day management (invites, profiles, settings) and can see every vault record, including Private. Only the household Owner can assign or remove Super Admin.
- Admin — can invite members and manage profiles; cannot remove people. Cannot see other people’s Private vault records (Owner and Super Admin can). See Vault help for how visibility works.
- Member — uses Atlas for their own items and household-shared content; limited admin powers.
When sending an invite, choose the role on the invite form. After someone joins, change roles from the Role menu on each profile in Household.
Invites and managed profiles
- Invite to login — send an email invite. The person must accept with that same email address.
- Add managed profile — create someone without a login (great for kids). You can invite them to log in later if you want.
- Pending invites can be resent or revoked from the Household page.
Your plan sets how many profiles you can have (Personal, Family, or Family+). Capacity includes everyone — login and managed.
Calendar colors
- Each profile has a calendar color. On Calendar, tap a color swatch next to a name to change it.
- Household has its own color (default yellow) for shared “Everyone” items — also editable from the Calendar legend chips.
Related settings
- Security — passkeys, authenticator, devices, quick unlock.
- Notifications — briefs and reminder preferences.
- Emergency access — trusted contacts for break-glass access.
- Delete household — only the owner can schedule permanent deletion. There is a 7-day window to cancel; after that, household data cannot be recovered.
