Read this first

Invitees do not sign up for a new household. Only the household owner creates the household. Your invite adds you to theirs. Tap or open the invite link you were emailed — do not use “Create account” / “Start a household” unless you are starting your own family space.

iPhone & iPad

  1. Install Atlas first — download the Atlas app from the App Store before you accept the invite.
  2. Open the invite email on your iPhone or iPad and tap the invite link, or open the link and choose Open in Atlas app.
  3. Accept the invite in the app. You may be asked to choose a password so you can sign in again later — that is finishing your join, not creating a new household.

Android

  1. Open Atlas in Chrome (or your usual browser).
  2. Add Atlas to your Home screen: open the browser menu (⋮), then Install app or Add to Home screen.
  3. Open Atlas from the Home screen icon, then open your invite email and tap the invite link to join the household.
  4. Do not create a new household. Accepting the invite is enough.

Menu labels vary slightly by browser. If you do not see Install app, look for Add to Home screen or Add to phone.

Computer (desktop or laptop)

  1. Open the invite link from your email in Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox.
  2. Accept the invite on the page. You do not need to register a new household.
  3. Optional: in Chrome or Edge, use the install icon in the address bar (or the browser menu → Install Atlas) so Atlas opens like an app next time.

After you join

You will land in the household that invited you. If Atlas asks for a password, set one so you can sign in on other devices with the same email that received the invite.
