• Categories cover appliances, HVAC, electronics, furniture, tools, autos, home supplies, and more.
• Types include equipment, consumables, and parts. Consumables/parts can sit under parent equipment when that helps.
• Use parts notes when one item has several filter sizes or related spare parts.
• Search and filter to find items quickly as the list grows.

Tap Scan photo to use the same picker as Vault: take a picture, choose from your photo library, or pick a file. Photos get an AI name/category suggestion; any file is stored in Vault on the item when you save.

On a new or existing item, use Upload / Scan the same way as Vault, or link a record already in Vault. Files are encrypted with the household Vault password, appear in Vault, and can be viewed on the item.

• When creating an item, you can add a first reminder (replace, service, refill, warranty, and similar).
• Later, open the item to add or edit reminders with intervals and advance notice.
• Due reminders also surface on your household dashboard for the week ahead.

Flag items with include in insurance report. Then run an insurance PDF for marked items, a category, selected items, or everything. Link Vault receipts or photos to an item so they can appear with the report when relevant.

• Deleting a location clears that room assignment on items; it doesn’t delete the items themselves.
• Disposed items are left out of insurance pickers so reports stay current.
